Fear & Greed should be usable by as many people as possible, including people using screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, magnification, or reduced-motion settings. This statement sets out where we stand, honestly, including the parts that are not there yet.

1. Conformance status

We aim for WCAG 2.2 Level AA. The site is partially conformant: most of it meets that standard, but some data-dense views described below do not. This statement is based on our own review rather than a third-party audit.

2. What works

• A “Skip to content” link is the first thing in the tab order on every page.
• Every page declares its language, uses landmark elements, and has a single top-level heading.
• The site is navigable by keyboard, and interactive controls show a visible focus indicator.
• Decorative company logos carry an empty alt so screen readers do not announce a ticker twice; images that carry meaning of their own have descriptive alternative text.
• Animation and motion respect your operating system's prefers-reduced-motion setting.
• Theme, contrast, density, and background options let you adjust the interface to suit your vision and preferences.
• Text can be resized and the layout reflows without loss of content.

3. Known limitations

We are aware of the following, and are working on them. If one of these blocks you, tell us and we will prioritise it.

• Interactive charts and treemaps. The chart, market map, supply-chain, and company-world views are drawn visually and are not fully navigable or readable with a screen reader. Where possible we also publish the same data as tables and as CSV via our free API and CSV downloads, which are accessible alternatives.
• Wide data tables. Screeners and holdings tables scroll horizontally and can be demanding to navigate on small screens or at high magnification.
• Colour as an indicator. Some views use red and green to signal direction. We pair this with a sign or arrow in most places, but not yet everywhere.
• Third-party content. Company logos and some embedded market data come from external providers whose accessibility we do not control.

4. Reporting a barrier

If you hit something you cannot use, email patrickv.disc@gmail.com with the page address and what went wrong. We aim to acknowledge within 5 working days and to tell you what we can do and when. If you need information from an inaccessible view in another format, ask and we will provide it.

5. Creative Commons and data reuse

We intend the Fear & Greed index values we compute and publish to be freely reusable with attribution, on the terms of Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0): copy, redistribute, and build on them, including commercially, as long as you credit Fear & Greed and link back to this site. If you plan to rely on this commercially, email us first to confirm the terms in writing.

This licence covers only the index values we produce. It does not cover third-party market data, company logos, or the site's own design and code, which remain subject to their own terms — see Terms of Use and Free API & CSV.
