These terms are a binding agreement between you and Fear & Greed (“we”, “us”) covering your use of this website, its content, and its public API (the “Service”). By using the Service you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the Service.
The Service is provided for general informational and educational purposes only. Nothing on it is investment, financial, legal, accounting, or tax advice, and nothing on it is a recommendation, offer, or solicitation to buy or sell any security, commodity, or other financial instrument.
We are not a broker-dealer, investment adviser, financial planner, or any other kind of regulated financial institution, and we are not registered with or authorised by the SEC, FINRA, the FCA, or any comparable regulator. No content on the Service is personalised to your circumstances, objectives, risk tolerance, or financial position, and no fiduciary, advisory, or client relationship is created by your use of it.
Sentiment indices, screeners, regression outputs, scenario tools, hedge-fund holdings views, and any AI-generated commentary on the Service are analytical illustrations, not signals or forecasts. Past performance is not a reliable indicator of future results, and the value of investments can fall as well as rise. You should seek advice from a suitably qualified, independent professional before making any investment decision, and you are solely responsible for the decisions you make.
Market data, index levels, prices, fundamentals, regulatory filings, calendars, and derived metrics displayed on the Service are obtained from third-party sources. Data may be delayed, incomplete, interrupted, out of date, or wrong. Prices shown are not quotes on which any transaction can be executed. Derived metrics depend on modelling choices and assumptions that may not suit your purpose.
We do not independently verify third-party data, and we make no warranty as to its accuracy, completeness, timeliness, or fitness for any purpose. You must not rely on the Service as your sole source for any decision, and you should verify anything material against the primary source.
Parts of the Service generate text using large language models. That output can be incorrect, incomplete, or fabricated even when it reads as confident and specific. It is not reviewed by a human before you see it, it is not advice, and it must not be treated as a statement of fact. Verify anything you intend to act on.
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account, and you must provide accurate information when you do. You are responsible for keeping your credentials and API keys confidential and for all activity under your account. Tell us promptly at patrickv.disc@gmail.com if you believe your account has been compromised. You may close your account at any time; we may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms.
You agree not to:
You keep ownership of what you post. By posting to the forum or any other public area you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, display, and distribute that content as part of operating the Service. You are responsible for what you post and confirm you have the rights to post it. We may remove content that breaches these terms, but we do not pre-moderate and we are not responsible for user content.
The Service, its design, code, and original content are ours or our licensors' and are protected by intellectual property law. Underlying market data belongs to its respective providers. Where we publish data under an open licence, that licence governs and is stated alongside it — see Free API & CSV and Accessibility & CC. Otherwise you may use the Service for your own personal, non-commercial purposes and may not copy, redistribute, or create derivative products from it without our permission.
The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free, and we may change, suspend, rate-limit, or discontinue any part of it, including API endpoints and their response shape, at any time and without notice.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any trading or investment losses, lost profits, lost data, business interruption, or any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service or from reliance on anything in it — including losses caused by data that is delayed, unavailable, or wrong.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim, or USD 100.
You agree to indemnify us against claims, losses, and reasonable costs arising from your breach of these terms, your misuse of the Service, or content you post.
The Service links to third-party sites and data sources that we do not control and are not responsible for. A link is not an endorsement.
We may revise these terms as the Service changes. The date at the top shows when they were last revised, and continuing to use the Service after a revision means you accept it.
These terms and any dispute arising from them are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer law in your country of residence.
If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. These terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Cookies Policy, are the entire agreement between us regarding the Service.
