On May 22, 2024, Norway, Ireland, and Spain announced that they plan to formally recognize a Palestinian state on May 28. Several other EU member states have announced intentions to recognize a Palestinian state in the future. This market will resolve to "Yes" if the government of any EU country that has not previously done so, besides Spain and Ireland, formally recognizes a Palestinian state by June 30, 2024, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". An announcement of intentions will not suffice to resolve this market to "Yes". Only a government's formal recognition of a Palestinian state will count toward a "Yes" resolution for this market. The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from the governments of any relevant state, however a consensus of credible reporting will also be used.
